Effective Date: 8/29/25
SchoolVue (“the App”) is built by Nate Ballantine and is designed to help families organize their children’s school schedules, events, and activities. We value your trust and take privacy seriously. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
Information We Collect
- Student profiles: You can optionally add information such as your child’s name, grade level, teacher, and birthday. This information is entered manually by you and is stored only on your devices and in your personal iCloud account.
- Events, notes, and photos: You may choose to add events to your calendar days, attach notes, or upload photos. These are also stored in your iCloud account to keep your devices in sync.
We do not collect analytics, advertising identifiers, or personal data on our servers. All data stays private to you.
How We Use Information
- Information you enter (student profiles, events, notes, and photos) is used only within the app to organize your school year.
- Birthday entries are optional and are displayed solely within your SchoolVue profile screens. We do not process, analyze, or share this information.
Data Storage and Sync
SchoolVue uses Apple’s iCloud services to sync your data between devices. This means your information is stored in your own iCloud account, managed by Apple.
- Because your iCloud account is private to you, neither we nor any third party has access to your content.
Children’s Privacy
SchoolVue is designed for use by parents and guardians. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children. Any child-related details entered into the app are controlled entirely by the parent or guardian.
If you are under 13, please do not use SchoolVue without parental supervision.
Sharing of Information
We do not share, sell, or transmit your personal information or your child’s information to any third parties. Your data remains under your control.
Your Choices
- You can delete or edit student profiles, events, and notes at any time within the app.
- Removing the app from your device does not automatically delete data stored in your iCloud account; you can manage that directly via Apple’s iCloud settings.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect improvements to the app or new legal requirements. We will update the “Effective Date” at the top when changes are made.
