Senior Director, Product Management – Merchandising and Supply Chain Systems, 04/2021 – Present

  • Product leader responsible for the building the vision, strategy, and roadmap for Total Wine & More’s Merchandising and Supply Chain systems; including a custom-built ERP software suite, associated 3rd party applications and transactional reporting.
  • Developed a product roadmap across multiple domains, ensuring critical dependencies are identified and the best solutions for the customer are delivered every time, on-time.
  • Scaled the engineering team from 2 to 7 agile teams.
  • Led a diverse team of 10 product managers and product owners, responsible for implementing mission critical projects, including:
    • Integrating Stibo’s STEP and PDX products for Product Information Management,
    • Led the transformation of a legacy Windows Forms-based client application to a micro-frontend architecture using React supported by modern microservice-based backend,
  • Transforming Total Wine’s supply chain from supporting distribution from a single distribution center to a multi-site network model.

  • Developed a 3-year IT capital investment roadmap with the CIO that was presented to and ratified by the Board of Directors.
  • Awarded Total Wine and More’s Pinnacle award; the second highest awarded by the company.
  • Led 6 product managers, product owners, and software engineers responsible for implementing mission critical projects, including:
    • A mobile item-location management application that improved location accuracy and reduced time to pick by 53%, and
  • An automated store transfer algorithm that allows managers to efficiently allocate excessive product and reduce inventory carrying cost by $500,000 per year.

Sr. Manager, Business Systems and Intelligence, 03/2017 – 04/2019

  • Implemented McKinsey’s Price Advisor, an integrated price-setting and price-management solution. Delivered the $5m project on schedule, under budget and with greater than $5m in margin in year 1.
  • Product manager responsible for implementing Total Wine’s first enterprise data warehouse using the Microsoft analytics stack (Azure Data Warehouse, SQL Server, SSAS, Power BI, etc.).
  • Leadership of the Product Support and Engineering team, responsible for the 24/7 operational support of Total Wine’s ERP suite, Store Inventory Program (SIP) and Apex, which reduced client exceptions by 75% saving over 1000 man-hours per year in lost productivity.

  • Product manager responsible for the enhancement, maintenance, and support of Total Wine & More’s custom-built ERP software suite.
  • Developed 3 and 5-year product roadmaps to support company revenue, margin, and growth goals.
  • Led the successful transition of our internal development and QA teams from a traditional waterfall SDLC to Scrum and our support teams to Kanban.
  • Increased the release frequency of our core products from bi-yearly to monthly while increasing ROI and customer satisfaction.
  • Established and led a team of 4 product owners responsible for managing projects and developing user stories to support several value streams for key business stakeholders including:
    • Reduced product acquisition cost by $750,000 through the development of a new product that automates the Direct Store Delivery ordering process, a complex, multi-point supply chain.
    • Creating a B2B transmission process that automated the transmission, receipt and crosschecking of purchase orders and invoices, saving over $250,000 per year in reduced labor costs.

Lead Business Analyst, 04/2014 – 03/2015

  • Successfully led the implementation of multiple large cross-functional projects including:
    • Redesigned the Automated Ordering algorithm to reduce unit cost of goods sold and increase YOY gross margin by over 100 basis points.
    • Established a framework to integrate the Total Wine & More website, ERP and register systems to display in-store inventory levels accurate to within 15 minutes.
    • Redesign and automation of all in-store signage.

  • Lead Project Manager for all (~ 75/year) client custom projects, including gathering requirements from key stakeholders, specification design, product implementation, and testing. 
  • Collaborating with sales personnel to obtain product feedback and creating a feedback methodology that led to increased product innovation and high customer satisfaction.
  • Directing a team of support associates, in-house and offshore developers for a globally distributed firm.
